A couple new pages

I made these pages a couple of weeks ago, but did not get a chance to post them. I made both of them with the August Studio Calico kit that I get. I just love those kits! They are super versatile! I made a fancy wedding page and a grungy Seattle page...all with one kit. :)
I loved the photos I took of the gum wall in Pike Place. We went with Josh & Ellen on Labor Day. It was super disgusting and smelled like gum in the whole alley! After all, the walls have been covered with gum since the 90's.

Gyros for Dinner

This is my Thursday night! Way too tired from a long day at work, I bought a gyro on my way home! Every month or two, I just love to get some hot food at the gyro hut. I love not having to cook.

Tonight I am eating it while I watch House episodes from last season.

How do you like my lava lamp?

Bike ride to Seward Park + another wedding

After my boot camp class today, I was silly enough to coerce Matt into letting me go along with him on his long bike ride! I really wanted to thoroughly enjoy this last day of summer! It was truly a beautiful day. We rode our bikes all the way from our house to Seward Park and back! I will have to check specifics, but I believe that it was more than 25 miles. The views on Lake Washington Boulevard are amazing, and we even stopped for some coffee on the way home. I got a pumpkin spice latte...yum!
After our amazing ride, Matty and I went to a very nice wedding! My photography was terrible, especially due to bad lighting but ALSO due to somehow being extremely unsteady in the hand. (Almost all shots were blurry...yuck!)

Here's a cute one (that's only a little fuzzy)
And here is an quick ode to my favorite favorite cake! Its Italian Creme cake. I first had it at Aileen's wedding last year and quickly fell in love! I have only had this cake a couple of times, but it is truly the best thing I have every eaten! I will have to get the recipe sometime soon!
The true confession is...this cake is the reason I went on that bike ride today! It was so, so delicious and I had two pieces. :)
Thanks for reading my silly, random post. :)

Fall Loves

Even though it is only the second day of Fall, I am already excited! I wrote a list of all the things I am looking forward to this season:

1) Long runs...getting ready for the Seattle half marathon

2) Crispy leaves

3) Wearing my newish boots (got last year)

4) Hot lattes with lots of foam (I might even break out my personal latte maker at home!)

5) Drinking tea every night (already doing this...I love my Hamilton water boiler!)

6) New episodes of Castle

7) Scrapbooking all my summer photos

8) Pretty colors everywhere. I want to drive Chuckanut Drive, which is up North...apparently beautiful in the Fall.

9) Football! I get to go to Apple Cup this year at the Seahawk Stadium!

10) Getting thin and healthy. I am newly inspired by my personal trainer. :)

Bring it on cold weather! You cannot beat me!

We Rearranged our House!

Tonight Matty and I did a little rearranging, and a couple of trips to Good will! We got rid of our big boxy TV and got a newer flatter one, which takes up lots less space!

Here are a couple in progress...
Kitty sure loves those boxes!

Matt had a great idea to buy a second 6 foot table to add to my scrapbook room! I love having more space! Now that the TV is no longer in the spare bedroom, there is lots more space for scrapbooking! Renae has a place where she can come over. We also put the desk top computer into the spare room so that we can use it for internet.

Here is what it used to look like...
(Don't you just love the little kitty feet?)

And here is the new tv and the new scrapbook room:
There is still a lot of work to be done and more organizing, but I am so glad to have this whole process started!

Productive weekend!

Fortunately my friend Renae was not sick for the whole weekend! We did get some scrapbooking done. In fact, I finished four pages. I took very few photos this weekend, but I was glad to finish some summer pages. Here are a couple:
I got to use paint on both of these pages, as well as stamps that I have had for awhile but never used! I love using products from my stash of stuff...its almost like going shopping in my own house. :)

Now I will be getting outside to enjoy a little sunshine! (You never know how long it will last around here. )

A weekend at home

What will this weekend bring?

It has been so long since I've been in town on a Seattle weekend without any plans.

Renae and Joe are in town. Matt is on a bike ride with Joe and Josh at the moment. Poor Renae is sick in bed! We were planning on doing a bit of scrapbooking, but currently that is not possible at the moment. I feel so very sorry for my sick friend.

My current plan for the afternoon is to head over to a friend's house to watch the game, Nebraska vs. UW. I will be wearing this shirt:
(photo taken last year in July)

I grew up cheering for the Huskers as they played Colorado each Thanksgiving. Its also kind of fun cheering for the OTHER team while in the midst of all that purple and gold.

So far (except for Renae being sick) the day has been relaxing. Drinking coffee, eating a muffin, holding kitty on my lap, surfing the web, all a good time!

Bring it on, Seattle weekend!

Baby Frame

I made this frame for a friend. It was very simple! I just used my scallop circle punch and a butterfly punch. I inked the scallops and butterflies with Work Lipstick Distress ink. I cut out the title with my slice, using the Spring Design Card and some AC Cardstock. I found that AC cardstock works great in the slice! The hardest part about the whole project was gluing the words down one by one, and making sure that I was making her name even and straight. It isn't perfect, but I added a little butterfly to help balance the frame and fill in some unwanted white space.

Maybe I will make more of these someday! Everyone I know seems to be having babies. :)

A few more wedding shots...

As promised, here are few more pictures I took at the wedding!

I just loved the pretty cake and pie, probably took more cake pictures than anything else.

The chocolate fountain was quite the hit! Poor Matty, this chocolate fountain was supposed to be at our wedding, but it wasn't aloud.
This little girl may have been one of the cutest guests....
These three flower girls are pretty cute as well!
I loved the golf cart...

And here is AFTER the wedding...

We all enjoyed a little relaxation and watched "The Proposal." It was so nice to have some girl time! Now I am back in Seattle and don't have any going-away plans for the rest of the year! I am so happy that I will have a chance to relax and hopefully have a few weekends free of travel!

Beautiful wedding!

I just have a few beautiful photos to share before I have to go to work! This morning I uploaded and ordered and edited (mostly) over 250 photos! I can't wait to see them in person and maybe even make a few scrapbook pages one of these days. ANYWAY...

Here is the beautiful couple from Saturday's wedding:
Aren't they so cute? :) I will share more detail shots of the wedding, maybe later today or tomorrow. Now I have to officially start my Monday! The clouds are back in Seattle, perfect beginning to a Seattle work week.

A few Oregon Coast photos

Finally after nearly a month, I have a working computer again! The power cord just came in the mail, and the first thing I did was upload my photos from my camera. All 955 photos from the month of August!

Here are just a few photos from the Oregon coast:
(No that is not a beer bottle, but it is a REAL soda, vintage ginger ale to be exact)

Here is the view from Ecola State Park:
And another photo at Ecola. We hiked along the ridge above the beach:
Cows and ice cream at Tillamook! I also got some amazing cheese curds...you can only get these at the factory!
We stopped at a fun little look out on our way to Newport. They had a gift shop which has been around since the 1930s and an amazing view of the ocean from 500 feet above: We really loved the lighthouse at Yaquina! We also saw some grey whales in the ocean just beyond the lighthouse.

Our anniversary dinner was at Rogue Brewery. We took the tour a couple of years ago, and this year we just enjoyed an awesome dinner and some beer samples. These onion rings blew us away!
The second full day of our trip was spent entirely in Cannon Beach, most of it AT the beach. We went to the beach exactly six times in one day, and although it was lovely, we had enough!

Pizza eating is our lunch tradition:
Finally, some photos of the beach at sunset! This was my favorite of all the time we went to the beach!
I should be back soon with more photos and stories. I certainly have a lot to tell. Have a great weekend everyone!
